ITANAGAR, Nov 19: City Police has arrested Tana Hasi, self styled Finance Secretary of the Nationalist Liberation Council of Taniland, polishing off the organisation, who once claimed itself as the voice of the people of the state.
One AK 56 Riffle with ten live rounds was recovered from the Hasi who walked in Police trap at Jote as he was going out to meet a friend. He was one of the members who opened fire at Ganga market in May earlier this year. The team led by Officer C N Bui arrested Hasi, a school dropout and trice married. A native of Balijan, he was trained by the NSCN IM at their base in Camp Hebron.
With today’s arrest the City Police has added another to its long list of success stories.
City Police led by Hibu Tamang managed to nab all the top functionaries including self styled Commander in Chief of the organisation Anthony Doke and Area Commander Techi Bidu.
Doke, was arrested in June last from Assam's Sivsagar district.
When contacted Hibu Tamang said that Police team based on intelligence input managed to arrest evasive Hasi.
Trained by NSCN (IM) and NDFB, NLCT had earlier on created a ruckus in the Capital region by serving extortion notices.
City Police Chief said that the organisation had no particular agenda except creating law and order problem and extracting money from the public.
Tamang said that there is no place for anti social elements in the society and City Police would not tolerate any one of them.
No compromise on quality education: Siram
PASIGHAT, Nov 19: Education Minister Bosiram Siram said that there would be no compromise with quality education in the state.
Siram further assured that NCERT books in the schools would be mandatory and there would be no arbitration in it.
He was speaking at East Siang District Coordination Meeting at DC's conference hall, Pasighat today. The minister asked officers to share greater responsibilities for effective and smooth implementation of govt. policies and programs while taking into confidence the common public. He further urged all the officers to be regular in respective posting places.
Siram, who made electoral history by getting elected two consecutive time from prestigious Pasighat constituency returned to his home constituency yesterday after his induction in the Dorjee Khandu led government.
Minister urged cooperation, advices from all the Department Heads, public leaders to implement his vision into reality.
He urged the department to gear up for centenary celebration of Pasighat Township in 2011 and appealed all the departments to start the preparation in right earnest.

ITANAGAR, Nov 19: The spat of road accidents in capital complex does not seem to be getting over. Adding to last week accident involving tracker and a bike, in which 18 year old young girl Kipa Yanung was brutally crushed, two more accidents shook Naharlagun town on Wednesday night.
The first accident took place near Chandni hotel where two bikes collided, however riders from both bike escaped with minor injuries.
Second accident a more serious one took place near Tata Motors showroom at Papu Nallah at around 10 pm. Chevrolet car coming from Itanagar collided head on with pulsar bike coming from opposite direction.
The condition of lone biker Tadu Kani is said to be serious and is under treatment in a city hospital. He is believed to be student of Rajiv Gandhi University and resident of Itanagar. The impact of collision was so strong that bike was tore into two pieces.
The driver of car ran away from the spot and police are yet to arrest him. According to police source they have traced the owner of vehicle and are hopeful of soon seizing the driver.
The consecutive accidents happening on the roads of twin town of Itanagar and Naharlagun has raised serious question mark over traffic safety especially during nighttime.
Empty road often incites people to over speed flouting all the traffic rules resulting in innumerable number of accidents.
In the recent days, city police officials have launched search drive against bikers for breaking traffic regulations.
However, many believe this is not enough. Unless authorities take concrete steps including broadening of capital road and impose harsh traffic rules, we may end up losing more lives in the road of Capital Region.
Arunachalee Engineergets software patented
ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Ani Taggu, the first software engineer from Arunachal Pradesh to work in the Silicon Valley, California, has again done the state proud by successfully patenting one of his works titled ‘Method and System for Virtual Prototyping’ in November this year in USA. His team worked for 3 years before filing for international patent in 2001 and US patent in 2002. After successful international class abstract patent,
the USA patent office granted him the US patent no. 7613599 this year.
The invention is an advanced software system that enables electronic compilers to create prototypes of mobile phones, automobile control systems. Such prototypes accelerate design of embedded systems like mobile phones drastically. Ani Taggu, an M. Tech from IIT Kharagpur, is currently a faculty member at Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh.
He is the son of Taling Taggu and Opet Taggu of Aalo and from a humble background.
His twin brother, Dr. Wasing Taggu, first MRCP in the state is currently pursuing CCT (Interventional Cardiology) in the East of England Deanery in the UK. This should encourage local students in their field of expertise to pursue their dreams.
Humility, honesty, hard work, and a backing from parents who dare to nurture the dreams of their children can go a long way indeed.

On the first day of their tour, the Opinion Leaders visited State Forest Research Institute, Chimpu.
Dr. G.N.Sinha, Director SFRI, other officers and scientist of the institute gave detailed information about the forest resources, bio diversity of Arunachal Pradesh and various research activities going on in the SFRI.
The Opinion Leaders were highly impressed with presentation and admired the lush green scenic beauty of Arunachal. They visited Geological and Non Timber Forest Products Museum at SFRI.

Eucharistic Procession on Sunday
ITANAGAR, Nov 19: The Catholic faithful will rally behind the Lord Jesus in the Eucharist on Sunday next in a spectacular act of prayer and worship in the Annual Eucharistic Procession at the Capital Complex.
A coordination meeting was held at Catholic Church Capital Complex under the Chairmanship of Rev. Fr. A.D. Jose SDB., the Parish Priest in which a large number of Catholic leaders participated.
The modalities of the procession was worked out in the meeting and Taw Tebin, the Chief Coordinator, spoke of the unique way this year’s procession is going to influence the faith life of the Catholic faithful.
It is noteworthy to remember that the Eucharistic Procession is an expression of the Catholics of their firm belief in the real presence of the Lord Jesus in the Eucharist in the form of bread and blesses all the believers.
This belief of the Catholic Church is based on what is called the Theology of Transubstantiation which in effect means that while the accidental qualities of the bread are not changed, essentially the bread is changed into the Body of Christ.
The Eucharistic Procession is a special occasion for the Catholic Faithful to pray for peace and prosperity of the State and to recommend to the Lord’s care all religious and civil and political leaders to take the State in the direction of abundance of all material and spiritual blessings.

NAHARLAGUN, Nov 19: Arunachal Pradesh also joined with the rest of the country in observing the Quami Ekta Week from Nov 19 to 25 next to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India late Indira Gandhi with a week long programme.
In all government offices, the National Integration Pledge was administered to all officers and officials to uphold the unity and and work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation. ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Nyishi Nyem Acham has taken up the mettle of encouraging Nyishi language within the community. The fear that future generation may forget their own mother tongue, the women brigade of Nyishi society has came up with noble idea of making their dialect more popular in the streets of Nyishi dominated districts.
In this regard, they organized a meeting on Thursday where beside executive members of Nyishi Nyem Acham, ordinary women like vegetable vendors of Itanagar markets attended.
Dwelling on the importance of safeguarding Nyishi dialect Higio Aruni, President of Nyishi Nyem Acham said, “We should feel proud to speak our language. Even though there may be bit variation in the accent of Nyishi speaker from Kurung Kumey, East Kameng or Papum Pare but we should all interact with each other in our own mother tongue only.”
Various speakers during the meet stressed on the need to work towards presenting better image of community to the rest of the world. There was general consent among women that they need to spearhead the movement of exposing beautiful side of Nyishi to fellow brethren of state.

Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the higher authorities of departments concerned regarding the flagrant negligence of duties by the invigilator of competitive exams that were conducted earlier. Unfortunately, I have been a victim of such negligence and god knows how many more might have suffered like me.
Until now, I tried my best in 17th competitive exams on engineering department. Every time I feel, I did better. But alas! When result comes, my name never appears in the list.
Whereas the students who uses mobile phone and books in the examination hall passed and ultimately employed and the students like us who gave their exam with true spirit becomes failure.
Thus, our earnest request to the higher authorities of respective department is that please looks into the matter seriously and do not allow the cheater to pass. We are really fed up with such explicit dishonest practices. In addition, this type of dishonest practices will lead honest competitors like us in wrong way in near future.

Dear Editor,
Through this esteemed daily, I would like to request APPSC that they should not postpone
the date of the examination as demanded by the bunch of non-
The request to defer the exam sounds irrational and mediocre especially in context of NET exam. The journey from the capital complex to their respective exam centre, barely take couple of days.
Besides, as they are doing masters in respective subjects they should focus in lectureship and research activities.
The problem is rooted there, just because they are not having any specific aim and making themselves "jack of all trade and master of none". Furthermore, examination requires minimum degree and not P.G or L.L.B.
If the small problem is taken into consideration then to boil down to a common point would be a gigantic task or it will never be achieved. By lashing out against the issue, I might be digging my own grave but we should learn to respect the decision as a proverb teaches us "There is never a right time to do the right thing".
On the other side, I think Commission have its own grievances. If it is postponed, it might repeat themselves like the last time when it took more than two years to declare the results.
I implore the Commission to be affirmative in its words and act, closing all room for hiccup and hesitation.
